| Your home in Vanuatu on Epi Island |
One of Vanuatu's locally built and owned bungalows can be found right here on Epi Island. Paradise Sunset Bungalows is truly a destination that dreams are made of. The scenery on Lamen Bay is sublime and showcases Ni Vanuatu beauty at its best. The accommodation is clean and comfortable and guests continue to rave about the excellent quality of our food.
All our bungalows here at Paradise Sunset Bungalows face the beautiful bay giving you an opportunity to sit back and take in the magnificent sunsets.
Avid snorkellers and keen yachtsmen are drawn to Lamen Bay for its astonishing sunsets and natural beauty. But you do not have to be classed into either of these two categories to appreciate what this island has to offer.
One of the main attractions of Paradise Sunset Bungalows is the chance to snorkel with the resident - and protected - dugong and large turtles. The Epi Island chiefs have imposed a ban on hunting for dugongs hence they frequent the local water area so snorkelling is a must. You are encouraged to bring your own snorkel equipment but there is some available here for you, if you forget.
There are a number of other activities available: Some of the services we offer include boat trips to Lamen and Lopevi Islands, trips to the waterfalls or the village gardens - filled with paw paw, pineapples and banana trees - or try your luck fishing for the beautiful Poulet fish - found at depths of 200-300 metres! If you're successful, enjoy the fruits of your labor later that evening by cooking this exquisite dish for dinner. |

| 'Rustic' Paradise in Vanuatu |
|
We may not have all the little creature comforts of the bigger resorts but we offer other amenities that we think you'll enjoy: Namely, a relaxing, beautiful and all-natural environment. Lighting is provided by a small generator from 6 till 9pm and then the solar power kicks in.
There is a shared facilities block which could be described as "rustic", but our French speaking NiVanuatu cook Silvana still works wonders in there! She's very much looking forward to our planned upgrades for the kitchen. We have a limited bar menu but generally have beer, soft drinks and wine by the glass.
Flights to Lamen Bay, Epi Island operate on Tuesday and Saturday.

Nature Made Materials used in the construction of these bungalows are nature's gift. For example, coconut palm leaves are used for matting and roofing material, Pandanus leaves are used in floor matting, bags and other areas requiring tight weaving and coral bamboo is used for making bungalow walls.
The water from the local well and creek is used to help mix cement along with the sand of the pristine beaches. The villagers even make bricks from the mold they make themselves.
The menu on Epi Island is 100% organically engineered. The fact that the island has no electricity except that small amount powered by the generator each day, means there is no refridgeration so you are literally getting the "catch of the day" every day!
Taking into account all these bungalows are owner operated and built by locals only, all the income that is generated goes directly back into the local economy.
