Sabie River, one of the rivers that flow through Kruger National Park, borders the Lower Sabie Rest Camp. In this camp you can value nature through the total of plant life and trees.  The Mighty Sycamore Figs gives generously to the livelihood of many, birds, insects and animals.Lower Sabie Rest Camp attracts large numbers of game because of the great quantity of water and sweet grass, attracting a diversity of game, which cannot be found anywhere else in the park. The area is abundant in Cheetah, Elephant, Rhino, Hippopotamus, Lion, and herds of Buffalo

Climate & Vegetation

Climate:
The Kruger National Park is in a summer rainfall area and it can result in heavy downpours. Winters can be warm and mild, although visitors going on night-drives will require warm clothing.
 The summer months (October to April) are hot and often humid.
 
Vegetation:
Large riverine trees and the sycamore fig tree are very prominent in the Lower Sabie camp.The camp is situated in Knob Thorn/Marula savannah on basalt soils. Other trees such as the Leadwood and sausage trees are also prominent.  The grass is sweet thus attracting many grazing species.
